nzaPhotography, LLC is owned and operated in Louisville, Kentucky by Nicole Zirnheld Aldridge. Nicole has always had a passion for all forms of art ever since she was a child. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western Kentucky University where she studied Advertising and Graphic Design. She then went on to work professionally as an Art Director and Web Designer for several years before becoming a stay-at-home mother to her three children.

Nicole started getting serious about photography after becoming a mom and during her work as a birth doula. Some of her clients liked her work so much that they asked her to photograph their babies.

Photography was a natural extension to her background in design and also allowed her to explore her creativity while still being able to stay home with her young children. Nicole began learning all she could about the craft and still continues to learn everyday.

nzaPhotography officially opened for business in January 2011 after many years of practice and much hard work. Nicole's next dream came true when she opened her studio in October of the same year at the Mellwood Art Center located on Mellwood Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky.

Besides being a mom, a photographer and a Certified Birth Doula, Nicole is also a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, teaching a unique and self-designed curriculum called BELIEVE IN BIRTH. She has trained over 300 couples in normal birth and has attended over 110 births as a doula. She is what some refer to as a "birth junkie."

In October of 2012, Nicole became an Affiliated Photographer with Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep - an organization that provides the gift of remembrance photography to parents suffering the loss of a baby.
